This is it. We're leaving in less than four hours. It's currently quarter to five in the a.m. on March First, we're planning to leave the house at about 8:00 for Amanda's parents' house, which we plan to leave by 9:00 AM bound for Chicago, to O'Hare, where we'll board a plane that will fly us to San Francisco, where we'll board a plane that will fly us to Auckland, NZ, where we'll board a plane that will fly us to Christchurch, NZ, where we'll get in a rental car and drive on the wrong side of the fucking street for three weeks. Yeah i'm excited. Yeah. I think i'm more excited for the plane ride itself than the three weeks in the N-Z. 25 hours to get there? Hell yes. Woo. I'm more of a journey guy than a destination guy, i guess. I'm weird and i'm tired, i'm coming up on 24 hours awake here. I don't see much point in sleeping now, not when Amanda's parents are driving us to Chicago. that's a good nap right there. then we go through security, then we get a four hour nap to San Francisco, if i'm not looking out the plane window the whole time instead of doing my mountain of homework or playing with the laptop that i just bought for this trip.
i need to load my iPod up with all my favorite stuff. This is not an occasion to be hauling around things that i've not listened to, this is not a new music kind of thing. I need stuff i can rely upon to be great. The syncing of the iPod is probably teh most important part of the trip preparation for me.
